Dr. Al-Zubaidi (Dr. Alzy) is a highly accomplished invasive non-interventional cardiovascular specialist with board certifications in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Adult Echocardiography, and Obesity Medicine. He is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Medicine, and American Society of Echocardiography.
He completed his medical education at the University of Baghdad and went on to finish his internal medicine residency at Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona then obtained his cardiovascular fellowship at Wright state university in Dayton, Ohio where he then worked as an attending cardiologist, assistant clinical professor and the director of the echocardiograph department for 5 years before he decided to move back to Pheonix where his family has been living. He calls the Phoenix metropolitan area his hometown.
Dr. Al-Zubaidi has special interests in pulmonary hypertension, resistant hypertension, hyperlipidemia, various cardiomyopathies, including cardiac amyloidosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and cardiac oncology. He is well-trained in supporting echocardiography imaging for structural heart disease surgeries like mitral clip, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), septal defects, and left atrial appendage closure devices placement.
On a personal level, Dr. Al-Zubaidi is fluent in both English and Arabic and enjoys staying active through tennis and pickleball.
